Sitting Posture, Does it Matter??? Chronic Pain

Sitting Posture, Does it Matter??? Chronic Pain

We spend about thirty percent of our lives sitting, be it hunched at/over a computer, watching television or driving. All this is torture on our back, thus our posture. We really do not give much attention, until problems arise, and then, major ouch! Sitting incorrectly for extended periods of time tires your back all the same. Also, slouching gives your lower spine an unnatural curve, placing more pressure on your lower back than when you are lying down. Slouched sitting often leads to slouched standing, unattractive. Furthermore, improper sitting may also result in neck pain, shoulder pain and headaches, as well as sore buttocks and/or legs. FYI, there are orthopedic seat cushions to help this situation. Remember, it is never too late to make a change in/for your health. Best, Ines
